I have many books relating to improving operational efficiency. I think this is the best I have yet.The concepts in the books are clearly explained in sufficient detail. But to me, the strength of the book is the many case studies which are used to illustrate the concepts. Without these case studies, one would only get a vague picture of all the often foreign sounding terms, with no idea what they actually are and how to implement them. With the case studies, it all comes together. What's more, some of them I could use almost directly at my work without the need of much modification.

This is one of the best books I've come across in a long time that pulls so many key items together to make it relevant. It's a gathering of quite a few aspects of operations, quality to make things work the first time and then to ensure sustainability. This book so nicely pulls all of these things together. Every chapter leads you on into more details.
I've started working with people outside manufacturing. This book helps me to get them started on what is basic, fundamental and key to quality and sustainability in operations.
